I wish I was a lot taller.  I also wish I’d had the where-with-all to hand my digital recorder to one of the folks standing there with Washington Redskins safety Oshiomogho Atogwe when he pulled a fast one on the press today at Redskins Park in Ashburn.

As one of the local media and their videographer approached him after practice to get an interview, Atogwe smoothly slipped the camera off the camera man’s shoulder and onto his.  The rest, as they say, is history.

There’s no real way to describe the ensuing “interview.” You have to hear it and see it to get the full effect.

Please accept my apologies that these pictures are too close to the action. I was trying to decide if I wanted the audio or the pictures and by the time I decided that I wanted the pictures, it was over. I wish I could have gotten farther away so I could ‘document’ the entire event through the camera but alas, I could not and still get the interview. Below is all of the audio and the too-close photos that represent, to a very small degree, how funny it was.  You’ll understand when you hear the interview.

Every time any media member asked Oshiomogho a question, he would swing the camera around to film them. As he did so, folks would back up, the camera trained on them less than a foot away and (even though they might insist otherwise); with either a worried, confused or bemused look on their face, ask their question.

Atogwe is a pro, no doubt.  Even as he used the camera, he answered the questions being asked with ease and clarity.  Look at the pictures (click on them to make them full size if you want) while you’re listening to the audio.

This is but one example of why you have to love these guys.
