The New York Giants recently held a workout for fullback Lawrence Vickers according to the Baltimore Sun’s Aaron Wilson.

Vickers, a seven-year veteran, spent five seasons with the Cleveland Browns before spending the past two with the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys, respectively.

With fullback Henry Hynoski an uncertainty for Week 1, the New York Giants are searching for a capable talent to fill the void for the time being.

Multiple sources indicated that the Giants had set their sights on Vonta Leach, but were unwilling to pay more than the veteran minimum. Leach re-signed with the Baltimore Ravens yesterday—the team that released him earlier this year.

Vickers, 30, started six games for the Cowboys last season. He rushed three times for 11 yards and caught 13 passes for 104 yards. He was a Pro Bowler in 2008.

The Giants signed fullback and Rutgers alum Ryan D’Imperio last week.
