FILED TO SPORTSJOURNEY/LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that Academy Award™ winner Matthew McConaughey will attend “Movies with Morris” with Redskins’ running back Alfred Morris at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Ashburn, Va. on Wednesday, June 4from 6 – 9 p.m .
In honor of Morris, the Redskins’ 2013 Walter Payton Man of the Year, all event proceeds will benefit the “Play 60 for All” program and McConaughey’s J.K. Livin (just keep livin) Foundation.
Both initiatives share the same mission: to empower students to lead active lives and make healthy choices to become great men and women. The just keep livin Foundation partners with other non-profit organizations in each local community to implement fitness and wellness programs in inner-city high schools. Through after school programs, students are encouraged to make positive life choices to improve their physical and mental health through exercise, teamwork, gratitude, nutrition and community service. At j.k. livin after school programs, kids learn self-reliance and get a healthy start today, so they can make a better tomorrow.
“Movies with Morris” represents the first event in a partnership between the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and the just keep livin Foundation designed to bring just keep livin fitness and wellness programs to high schools in the Washington, D.C. area.
Tickets to the event are available for reservation at www.redskins.com/movieswithmorris. General admission tickets are $200. VIP tickets and sponsorship packages are also available.
