RICHMOND, Va. – The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic will grant a teenager’s wish to meet Robert Griffin III on Aug. 10 at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center in Richmond, Va. following the team’s 8:35 a.m. morning practice.
Eighteen-year old Jamia, a native of Lusby, Md., was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease in May 2010, continuing dialysis until she was able to receive a kidney transplant in 2013.
As a Redskins fan, Jamia’s wish was to meet Griffin and throw the football with her idol. Jamia will receive the full VIP Training Camp Experience including watching practice from a private tent, catered breakfast and other surprises.
Jamia will be accompanied at the team’s morning practice by her parents and 16-year-old brother, Jamani.

The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, the non-profit philanthropic arm of the team, combines the influence and popularity of the Washington Redskins with the resources and assets of area corporations. Founded by owner Daniel M. Snyder, the Charitable Foundation is guided by its Leadership Council that consists of CEOs who help shape and define the philanthropic efforts of the Redskins to achieve a measurable impact on youth development in the areas of education, community outreach and health and wellness.
Regardless of what fans might think about this organization and the way things have gone in the past, there’s no denying that its Charitable Foundation has done some good things since owner Dan Snyder created it back in 2000.
Hail.
