Whether you are having a great start to the season or a rough one, its only Week 3 of the Fantasy Football season and there is plenty of time to get things right. One thing that has made it tough for fantasy team owners to have success is the inconsistencies of NFL team production from Week 1 to Week 2.
With that being said, you have to set your lineup according to what the number dictate so that your team can have the best chance to win.
This week the Washington Redskins will take on the Green Bay Packers at FedEx Field in Landover Maryland.
Here are three players that could be difference makers in helping FFL team’s secure a victory.
1. RB Chris Thompson
Whether the Redskins offense is clicking on all cylinders or a flop like it was in Wek 2, Thompson is a consistent fantasy points provider. His versatility keeps him involved in the offense as he can not only be used in the ground attack but has a great ability to run crisp routes creating mismatches in the passing game.
The Packers have struggled to consistently stop the run and do not have a linebacking core that has the ability to cover quick and shifty running backs. In Week 2, Thompson managed nearly 10 fantasy points due to his ability to get open and be a relief valve for quarterback Alex Smith. It doesn’t matter if he is your starting running back or flex player, placing Thompson in your line up is highly recommended.
2. S D.J. Swearinger
If you are looking for a defensive player to start in your league that consistently generates points, Swearinger is a player that should be on your roster. The South Carolina product has a real nose for the football making sound decisions in the running or passing game.
Swearinger came away with two interceptions in last weeks 21-9 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
With the Redskins facing a passing quarterback in Aaron Rodgers, expect Swearinger to have his share of opportunities to duplicate those efforts in this game.
3. TE Jordan Reed
This is where the start him or sit him questions become a bit difficult.
Why?
Simply due to the inconsistency of the Redskins offense. In Week 1, Reed had four receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown for 10.8 fantasy points. In Week 2, Reed had six receptions for 75 yards but had a critical fumble that dropped his fantasy points to 3.5.
Even with the potential inconsistent play of the Redskins offense, Reed is a tough cover for any team in the National Football League. He possesses size, speed, and the ability make himself a target for his quarterback in any situation. With the Packers being the third worst defense in Week 2 giving up a whopping 111.3 in total fantasy points, Reed should be highly considered.
