The Washington Redskins travel out west to face the Arizona Cardinals in both teams’ NFL regular season opener.

The contest will be the first time since the 2014 season opener that the Redskins have started on the road. In the teams’ last meeting on December 17, 2017, Washington was victorious 20-15.

The Redskins are trying to snap a four-game losing streak to start the season under fifth-year Coach Jay Gruden and an overall five-game losing streak in season openers dating back to when Mike Shanahan was the coach. Washington’s last opening day road win was back in 2012 when they defeated the New Orleans Saints 40-32 at the Mercedes-Benz Super Dome.

Washington is searching for back-to-back wins against Arizona since defeating the Cardinals during the 2008 and 2011 seasons.
