The first four weeks of the Fantasy Football season have been one of the most unpredictable in recent memory. Players that would seem to have favorable matchups have failed to produce while unheralded players have scored major points leaving fantasy owners scratching their heads. It’s now Week 5 of the Fantasy Football season and the wins become even more critical as teams are trying to get the early separation needed to have a shot at the end of the year to play for a FFL Championship.

On Monday Night the Washington Redskins will take on the New Orleans Saints in the hostile confines of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Below are three Redskins that should be considered in FFLs this week:

1. WR Jamison Crowder

Crowder has only been targeted 12 times in the Redskins first three games but this should end this week. Washington’s number two wideout Josh Doctson is likely out for Monday nights game opening the door for Crowder in the Redskins passing game. Crowder’s elite route running skills along with his savvy ability to get open should help him take advantage of a Saints defense that allows 12.4 yards per completion. The Duke product so far this season has nine catches for 79 yards and one touchdown, averaging 6.6 yards per reception for a total of 17.4 fantasy points through three games.

2. TE Jordan Reed

The Saints have struggled with there ability to slow down there opponents passing game, especially at home allowing 15.1 yards per completion. Reed is a matchup nightmare for as his size, speed and athletic abilities put a significant amount of pressure on the middle of opposing teams defenses.

Redskins vs. Saints: the final prediction

With the Saints not having a linebacker that can consistently match up with Reed, look for Washington to continue to target the TE as he leads the Redskins in receiving yards with 168. The Saints rank as the second toughest tight end matchup, per FantasyPros.com, but New Orleans hasn’t faced one of Reed’s caliber.

3. QB Alex Smith

Alex Smith has not set the world on fire yet this year but has been a steady play for FFL owners. This week against the Saints he has a chance for a big Week 5. The Saints are allowing 311 yards per game through the air along with 11 passing touchdowns, both of which rank third worst in the NFL.

Monday nights contest will be played in the Superdome, where the Saints are worst in there passing yards allowed giving up 325.5 yards per game. Look for Smith to take advantage of a porous Saints pass defense as the Redskins try to outpace Drew Brees and company.
