The Washington Redskins less than 24 hours after a debilitating loss to the Atlanta Falcons that produced several season-ending injuries to three starters, today made several roster moves.
The team announced that starting Pro Bowl right guard Brandon Scherff, starting left guard Shawn Lauvao and starting wide receiver Paul Richardson will all need season-ending surgeries. All three were placed on the Reserve/Injured list.
Injuries have again damaged the #Redskins season. Starting OL guards Brandon Scherff (torn pec), Shawn Lauvao (torn ACL) and WR Paul Richardson (Shoulder/Knee) are out for the remainder of the season. This seems like last years scenario all over again.

Speaking today from his customary Monday press conference, Coach Jay Gruden talked about the injuries.
“Alrighty, injury update – I’m sure it’s all over probably – but Shawn Lauvao, ACL tear, needs surgery, he’ll be out for the year, Gruden said. “[Brandon] Scherff tore his pec (Pectoral), he’ll be needing surgery and he’ll be out for the year. Paul Richardson, shoulder AC joint, he’s going to have surgery and he’ll be out for the year …”
Injuries could again derail a promising Redskins season
Because of the season-ending injuries the team quickly went out and signed the following players to their active roster.
The Redskins signed guards Luke Bowanko and Jonathan Cooper. They also signed tackle Austin Howard.
