For the first time in franchise history, the Washington Redskins will be playing in their third-straight Thanksgiving day game when they travel to Texas to face their division rival, Dallas Cowboys. The contest will mark the Redskins fifth road game of the season. Washington is 3-1 away from FedEx Field this season. The Redskins three road wins have come against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1, the New York Giants in Week 8, and a Week 10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Redskins enter the game with a record of 6-4 after last Sunday’s Week 11 home loss to the Houston Texans. The Cowboys come into the Week 12 contest with a 5-5 record. Dallas is riding a two-game winning streak.
Washington will look to improve their record to 7-4 and give the franchise their best start to a season through 11 games since posting a 7-4 record through 11 games in 2008.
A win would continue the Redskins first-place standing over the NFC East division which they have led outright over the past seven weeks. A Redskins victory would also give them a strong two-game lead with a tie breaking edge over the Cowboys within the division. Winning would give Washington a 3-0 record in the division for the first time since 1991.
A win on Thursday will give #Redskins a 3-0 record in the NFC East division for the first time since 1991. I'm sure everyone is aware what happened that year! #HTTR @SportsJourney
