The Washington Redskins who have been under intense scrutiny from their loyal fanbase and the national media received a bit of positive news to start the new year when linebacker Reuben Foster’s domestic violence charges were dropped.

Charges for a domestic violence incident that occurred on Nov. 24 between Foster and his ex-girlfriend Elissa Ennis were dropped in Hillsborough County Florida.

The Redskins claimed Foster on waivers just three days after he was released by the San Francisco 49ers following his arrest for the incident.

The Redskins were lambasted nationally for signing the former 2017 first-round draft pick (31st overall selection).

The second-year player has had several brushes with the law.

Foster received two years of probation and pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor weapons charge. He was banned from possessing guns. The NFL also suspended Foster for the first two games at the start of the season stemming from an arrest for misdemeanor marijuana possession in January 2018.

As of today, Foster remains on the commissioner’s exempt list as a decision regarding his joining the Redskins is pending.
