I was trying to figure out how to frame the fantasy report this week since what we concentrate on every week is, which Washington Football Team players might be good fantasy options. Unfortunately, the pickin’s are slim.

With the Dallas Cowboys coming to Fed Ex Field, we have the Dallas defense against the Washington offense or, the immovable object versus the irresistible force.

But in ‘Bizzarro World,’ the Cowboys defense has given up at least 34 points in every game since Week 2.

The Washington offense hasn’t scored more than 27 points in a single game this season.  If D.C. was the Cowboys market, the vibe would be: “This is the week the defense gets right.”  But it’s not… so one must assume that Washington finally scores some points.

That said, here are three projected fantasy stars:

QB Kyle Allen:

Seriously, stop laughing.

I know he’s not a threat to make the Pro Bowl this year (unless literally, everyone else backs out) but take a look at the numbers for last week.  In my league, he would have gotten 12 points for the touchdown passes and another 11 for yardage.  Subtract four for the interception and sacks, and that comes out to 19 points for a guy who threw a lot of check-downs and short passes.  He won’t be a one-man wrecking crew but if you are thinking about making a QB change and are looking for someone on the waiver wire, Allen might be worth a look.

Washington Defense:

Again, we’re going back to the force/object analogy.  That great Dallas offensive line — the one that is supposed to be the best in the NFL — is gone.  Every player from last year is either injured or retired (thank you, former Cowboys center, Travis Frederick).

Of course, QB Dak Prescott is such a dynamic player he can mask a lot of weaknesses.  Except, oops… he’s gone too.  Backup QB Andy Dalton suffered three sacks Monday night and he was hit another eight times.  So Washington defensive ends Chase Young and Montez Sweat should be able to feast on what amounts to an entire back up offensive line. Also, Dalton threw two interceptions and of course, we all know about Cowboys’ RB Ezekiel Elliott’s fumbles last week.  Let’s just hope this isn’t the game that Cowboys get their collective act together in.

WR Cam Simms:

Obviously, Washington wideout Terry McLaurin is the obvious play here but we have to change it up every once in a while.  Simms is going to see plenty of action as the No. 3 receiver this week with Steven Simms still out.  In fact, without Simms and fellow pass-catchers Isiah Wright and Antonio Gandy Golden, there isn’t another guy on the squad with game experience.  Simms had a great touchdown grab last week… let’s see if he can build on it this weekend.  There should at least be some morbid curiosity to this game so we’ll see what Washington can do.
