The Washington Commanders hit the road for the second time this season to face the Cincinnati Bengals in a Week 3 primetime showdown.

Washington comes into the game with momentum, having secured a 21-18 victory over the New York Giants last week.

On the other hand, Cincinnati is looking to bounce back after a tough loss to the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, which dropped them to 0-2 on the season. As a playoff contender, the Bengals are under pressure to avoid starting the season 0-3.

This 8:25 p.m. kickoff will also mark the debut of Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels in front of a national audience. The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner from LSU has sparked optimism within the Commanders organization and now faces a unique opportunity to go head-to-head with fellow LSU Heisman winner, Bengals QB Joe Burrow.

It will be Washington’s time as the road team against Cincinnati since 2016 when the two teams tied 27-27 at Wembley Stadium in London. The Commanders hold an all-time record of 5-5-1 against the Bengals but are 1-3-1 on the road. This also marks the first-ever Monday night meeting between the two teams. Historically, Washington has struggled on Monday Night Football with a 7-23 all-time record. However, they will be looking to build on their recent success, having defeated the previously undefeated Philadelphia Eagles 32-21 on Monday night in 2022. The Commanders are riding a two-game winning streak on Monday Night Football and hope to keep that momentum.

Here is a look at how both teams ‘Stats Stack Up‘ against each other heading into Week 3 of the NFL season.
