The Washington Commanders return home for a 4:25 p.m. contest against the Carolina Panthers. The Sunday Week 7 matchup will be just the third home game Washington has played all season. The Commanders are 2-0 at NorthWest Stadium this season.

Washington sits in sole possession of the NFC East division with a surprising 4-2 record. The Commanders are led by rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels who has captured the imagination of a fanbase that needed something positive entering the 2024 campaign. Daniels has consistently won the NFL Rookie of the Week award. He has won five out of six weeks since the award was given. In Week 5, Washington became the first team since 1970 to score 150-plus points in their first five games while starting a rookie QB. Daniels is the first player in NFL history to have had 1,400+ passing yards and 300+ rushing yards in their first six career games.

Carolina is coming to DC having lost three straight games. On the season, the Panthers are 1-5 under rookie coach Dave Canales. They are going through a lot of change and turmoil. They benched last year’s No.1 overall pick Bryce Young two games into the season in favor of 36-year-old Andy Dalton.

From a historical standpoint, Washington has a 6-3 record at home against the Panthers and a 10-7 overall record. The last time Washington played Carolina at home, the Panthers defeated them 20-13.

Washington is looking to start 5-2 for the first time since 2018.
