The Washington Commanders continue their surprising start to the NFL season with a regional battle against the Baltimore Ravens. Sunday’s Week 6 clash between neighbors less than 60 miles apart will be for more than I95 bragging rights. The game pits Ravens reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson against rookie sensation Jayden Daniels.

Washington sits in sole possession atop of the NFC East division with a surprising 4-1 record. The Commanders are starting to turn heads and there are whispers about the team’s legitimacy as an NFC contender.  The contest against the Ravens will be an early indicator on just how good Washington really is.

After an 0-2 start to the season, the Ravens have reeled off three straights wins over playoff caliber teams.

The 1:00 p.m. showcase between Jackson and Daniels will be the fourth time this season that last years Heisman Trophy winner has taken on a fellow Heisman recipient (Week 1 – Baker Mayfield ‘17, Week 3 – Joe Burrow ‘19, Week 4 – Kyler Murray ‘18, Week 6 – Lamar Jackson ‘16).

In Week 5, Washington became the first team since 1970 to score 150-plus points in their first five games while starting a rookie QB. Daniels is the first player in NFL history to have had 1,000+ passing yards and 250+ rushing yards.

From a historical standpoint, Washington has a 1-1 record on the road against the Ravend and a 3-4 overall record. This will be the fifth time that Washington and Baltimore face off in October. The last time Washington played the Ravens in a regular season game in Baltimore was back in 2016. Washington won the game 16-10.

Washington is looking to start 5-1 for the first time since 1996.

Here is a look at how both teams ‘Stats Stack Up‘ against each other heading into Week 6 of the NFL season.
