The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ playoff hopes become more difficult after a gut-wrenching 23-20 loss to the San Francisco 49ers at Raymond James Stadium. Despite a strong second-half comeback and a late-game push to take the lead, the Bucs couldn’t hold on, suffering their fourth consecutive loss and falling to 4-6 on the season. A last-second field goal by kicker Jake Moody handed the 49ers the victory as time expired, sending Tampa Bay home with another crushing defeat.
With the loss, this leaves them with an uphill battle to remain in the playoff hunt. The team’s inability to close out games, coupled with an offense that struggles to find consistency, has put their playoff aspirations on the brink. The Buccaneers will look to rebound next week when they face off against a struggling New York Giants on the road in what has become a must-win game.
