FILED TO SPORTSJOURNEY/RICHMOND, Va. – The Washington Redskins have announced that the inaugural Washington Redskins Fit Fest will be held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center on Aug. 2-3 as part of the team’s Fan Appreciation Weekend.
A projected 20,000 attendees will visit the nearly 70,000 square feet of Fit Fest exhibits to be informed, entertained, meet some of their favorite Redskin coaches, players and alumni all while learning to stay healthy and fit. More than 100 exhibitors will occupy sponsor pavilions and exhibitor booths providing free and potentially lifesaving health tests and screenings, information on medical breakthroughs and advances and the latest products and services promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Free to the public, the expo floor will feature sponsors and exhibitors with products, services and activities promoting a safe and healthy lifestyle. Key content elements of the expo will include medical information, free health tests and screenings, family-friendly sports activities, multiple presentation stages, player, coach, team alumni and celebrity appearances, autograph sessions, meet and greets, contests and giveaways.

Health and fitness experts will be on hand to consult on issues ranging from men’s and women’s to childhood obesity and health care for the elderly. Visitors will be able to enjoy healthy cooking demos with celebrity chefs, celebrity meet and greets and autograph signings, as well as Zumba dance, yoga activities and rock climbing. Visitors can also enter to win the hole-in-one contest by playing a world championship golf course using a state-of-the–art computer simulator.
