As the Washington Redskins prepare for Sunday’s matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, there are several storylines that could come to light.

A win would make the Redskins 2-0 on the season and mark the first time since the 2011 season they have started the season with consecutive victories.

Defeating the Colts would also be the first home opening day win for the Redskins since they defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars, 41-10, back on Septemeber 14, 2014.

A ‘W’ would give the Redskins a 7-2 record at FedExField against AFC opponents since Jay Gruden has been the coach.

Beating the Colts would improve the Redskins’ home record at FedExField to 85-83-1 in the regular season.

A win over Indianapolis would finally end the Redskins’ three-game losing streak to the Colts. Their last win over the Colts was a 26-21 victory back on October 27, 2002.

A victorious Redskins team on Sunday would narrow down the Colts regular season lead in the all-time series to 11-20.

Winning would give the Redskins a 2-1 record against the Colts at FedEx Field.

Finally, a win would give the Redskins consecutive wins against AFC opponents dating back to last season when Washington defeated the Denver Broncos, 27-11, in Week 16. It would be the first time since the Redskins picked up back-to-back wins against the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3 and Week 4 of the 2016 regular season.
