The Washington Redskins announced the following roster moves in preparation for their regular season opener against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

The team placed running back Byron Marshall on their Reserve/Injured list. The 2016 undrafted free agent out of Oregon had pushed to make the final 53-man roster and had a legitimate shot in doing so before a lower leg injury cost him the season.

Marshall, 24, was signed by the Redskins off the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad in November of last year.

In other moves, the Redskins terminated the contracts of defensive tackle Caushaud Lyons and quarterback Nic Shimonek from their practice squad.

Washington also signed free agent veteran linebacker Josh Keyes to their 53-man roster. Keyes, 25, has bounced around the league having played for four different teams. The fourth-year player has played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, and Los Angeles Chargers. He is seen as a special teams contributor.

In addition, the Redskins signed wideout Jehu Chesson and tight end J.P. Holtz to their practice squad.
