The Washington Redskins face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday in their fourth home game of the season. Washington is 2-1 on the road this season with wins over the Arizona Cardinals back in Week 1 and in Week 8 against the New York Giants. Their lone road loss was a Week 5 Monday night embarrassment against the New Orleans Saints.

The Redskins enter the game with a record of 5-3 after last Sunday’s Week 9 home loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The Buccaneers come into the Week 10 contest with a 3-5 record.

Washington will look to improve their record to 6-3 and produce its best start to a season through nine games since posting a 6-3 record through nine games in 2008.

The Redskins hold a one-game lead over the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East and enter the game with a 5-2 record against NFC opponents including a 1-2 record against the NFC South.

Injuries could again derail a promising Redskins season

Sunday’s contest will be the Redskins eight NFC matchup of the season. A win would continue the Redskins first-place standing over the NFC East division which they have led outright over the past five weeks. A win would also increase the Redskins record against the NFC to 6-2 on the season.

In the last meeting between Washington and Tampa on Oct. 25, 2015, they defeated the Buccaneers 31-30.
