The Washington Redskins have been besieged with injuries along their offensive line over the past two seasons.

In a move that could help with depth for the unit, the team announced the signing of unrestricted free agent tackle Ereck Flowers to a one-year contract worth $4 million.

Flowers (6-6, 334) has appeared in 59 career regular season games with 55 starts.

The former University of Miami product was originally drafted by the New York Giants in the first round (No. 9 overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Last season he opened the season with the Giants before signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6.

Flowers struggled last season and could be a candidate to be moved inside to guard which is a position of need for the Redskins entering the upcoming NFL Draft.
