The Washington Wizards are not giving up on themselves as they continue to battle for playoff positioning in the eastern conference. Their 100-90 win against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night was a victory they needed against their fellow divisional opponent. The Wizards bench showed up in a big way, scoring 58 points on the night.

Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 23 points, seven assists, and six rebounds. Thomas Bryant followed with 21 points and 10 rebounds, Jabari Parker with 19 points and nine rebounds, and Chasson Randle contributing 13 points.

Randle and Troy Brown, Jr., who was also in the game off the bench, have been activated to the Capital City Go-Go G-League team on and off throughout the season. Coach Brooks credited that experience with properly equipping them for the increased minutes they’ve been seeing in the last half of the season.

The Wizards are now within 1.5 games of the Magic and Charlotte Hornets who are currently in the No. 9 and 10 positions. That makes this Friday’s matchup versus Charlotte another battle that the Wizards must overcome.
