The Washington Redskins face the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday at FedexField with a chance to deliver a serious playoff blow to their NFC East counterpart.

The Redskins (3-10) have made changes at various positions to allow the young players on the roster a chance to show their skill set and prove if they can play heavily into the teams’ plans in the future.

The Eagles, on the other hand, come into the contest with a 6-7 record and a chance to win the NFC East division. They are tied atop the division with the Dallas Cowboys who also sport a 6-7 record.

Washington will be without another fallen star player to injury in linebacker Ryan Kerrigan who was placed on the injured reserved list with a calf injury. Earlier in the week, the Redskins placed running back Derrius Guice on IR with a knee injury.

The Redskins will continue to lean on a resurgent defense and on offense, the ageless Adrian Peterson at running back, and young players like quarterback Dwayne Haskins, and wideout’s Terry McLaurin, Steven Sims Jr., and Kelvin Harmon.

The Sunday contest will be the second to last home game for the Redskins who have won once at home in over a full calendar year. That win was three weeks ago against the Detroit Lions.

In both the team’s last meeting on September 08, 2019, to start the regular season, the Redskins were defeated by the Eagles 32-27.

What would a win over the Eagles do for the Redskins from a statistical and historical standpoint?

A win would give the Redskins consecutive home wins for the first time since Week 3 and Week 6 of last season.

A victory improves the Redskins all-time record vs. the Eagles to 87- 78-5.

A ‘W’ would give the Redskins their first division win of the season.

A win would be the first win over Philadelphia since Week 14 of the 2016 season.

Winning on Sunday would be the 22nd win against Philadelphia in the month of December.

A win would give the Redskins their first divisional win since Week 8 of the 2018 season.

Being victorious gives Interim Head Coach Bill Callahan his 19th regular-season victory.

Finally, a win would give the Redskins their third overall victory over an NFC opponent in 2019.
