The Washington Football Team travels to Buffalo for a Week 3 match-up with the Bills. Coach Ron Rivera said the game would be a measuring stick to see how far his young team has come in the last year and two games.

Can Washington go to Buffalo and pull an upset?

It’s possible, but what’s more likely is your fantasy team getting points from the following players.

This year, we will look at both teams each week, giving you the best match-ups and most likely standouts from both Washington and its weekly opponent.

Washington QB, Taylor Heinickie

It’s been a big week for the former Old Dominion University star. A comeback victory over the Giants led to an endorsement deal with Bud Light, sorry, Heineken. You snooze, you lose.

All of that has nothing to do with his potential for a big fantasy week, but his recent numbers do.

According to Pro Football Focus, Heinickie’s passing grade is 84.6. That’s 11th among QB’s since 2020 with more than 100 dropbacks. His adjusted completion rate is 78.6% (tied for 6th), and his QB rating is 94.9 (23rd).

Despite almost throwing the game away (literally) in the 4th quarter, his turnover-worthy play rate is the best in the league at 0.7%. If you’re starting QB is hurt, Heinicke may be an interesting pickup.

Buffalo WR, Stefon Diggs

Given what we have seen of the Burgundy and Gold secondary the first two weeks of the season, it’s not hard to expect Diggs to have a big day. PFF’s fantasy match-ups list Diggs as having the fourth-best match-up of the weekend, only Hollywood Brown, DeAndre Hopkins, and Devante Adams are projected to fare better. If you have Diggs, there is never a question about starting him. Look for him to help carry your team this week.

Washington WR, Cam Simms

This is more of a flyer than anything. This week, Head Coach Ron Rivera said that the team needs to get Simms more involved in the offense. That could be deception, or it could be foreshadowing.

Terry McLaurin and Logan Thomas are better options. Thomas comes into Week 3 ranked 10th amongst tight ends, but both are already taken, so if you are scouring the waiver wire, Simms could be the difference in a close match-up.
