The Washington Commanders received positive news ahead of their first road contest this week against the Denver Broncos.

Defensive End Chase Young who missed the majority of the preseason as well as last week’s season opener against the Arizona Cardinals has been officially cleared by team doctors to return on Sunday.

Young had been dealing with a neck injury listed as a ‘stinger.’

The fourth-year player is set to make his regular-season debut among great hype and fanfare because of the type of player he displayed during his 2020 rookie campaign where he was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Young suffered a serious knee injury during his second season and missed most of his third year returning for the Commander’s final four games.

The former Ohio State standout and local product has worked diligently to return to form and was having a strong training camp and preseason before his latest setback.

Coaches and teammates have raved about Young’s comeback and how he has displayed the power and burst that made him a ca n’t-miss prospect with generational talent.

Sunday in Denver, he will get a chance to prove he’s completely back and ready to help an already strong defensive unit become even better.
