The Washington Commanders are home this weekend for a Week 13 contest against the Miami Dolphins. This is the third of four games the Commanders will face against an AFC East opponent. Washington’s first two games against AFC East opponents produced a Week 3 (37-3) loss to the Buffalo Bills and a Week 9 (20-17) win over the New England Patriots.

Kickoff for this week’s game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The game marks the sixth home contest for the Commanders. Unfortunately, Washington (4-8) has played about as poorly as any team in the NFL at home on the season where they sport a 1-4 record. Their only win came back in the season opener against the Arizona Cardinals.

This week, a win would bring relief after the recent firing of defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio. Coach Ron Rivera who also finds himself on the hotseat will take over the defensive playcalling duties vacated by Del Rio.

Miami comes into the game with a record of 8-3, sporting a two-game winning streak, and looking to keep pace in a hotly contested AFC Conference playoff race. The Dolphins are led by an explosive offense that earlier in the season eclipsed 70 points in a game.

The Commanders have continued their nosedive of a season after another embarrassing performance on Thanksgiving Day against the Dallas Cowboys.

Washington has a 4-3 record at home against Miami and is 5-8 all-time against the Dolphins. The team’s last played back in 2019. A game Washington won 17-16 in Miami.

Here is a look at how both teams ‘Stats Stack Up‘ against each other heading into Week 13 of the NFL season.
