The Washington Commanders wrap up the season with a final home game against their longtime rival, the Dallas Cowboys.

The Commanders are relegated to play the spoiler role and keep Dallas from clinching the NFC East divisional crown. Washington’s previous contests against NFC East foes have not been kind. Coming into Week 18 the Commanders have dropped all of their matchups against divisional foes.

Kickoff for this week’s game was flexed by the NFL and now is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. EST on Sunday.

The game marks what realistically should be the final game for Ron Rivera as head coach for the Commanders.  Rivera’s legacy will be that of a stabilizing force more so off the field for the franchise than winning on it. In his four seasons as coach, the former Chicago Bears linebacker has posted a record of 26-39-1. Washington (4-12) is on a seven-game losing streak.

The Cowboys come into the game with a record of 11-5. With a win, they would continue a 21-year-old streak of crowning a new NFC East division winner.  Dallas would also insure themselves of at least one home playoff game. They currently have a 16-game home winning streak.

The Commanders’ last game was a 27-10 home loss against the San Francisco 49ers at FedEx Field.

Washington has a 30-34 all-time record at home against Dallas and is 48-77-2 all-time against the Cowboys. The teams last played on Thanksgiving Day with Dallas winning at home 45-10.

Here is a look at how both teams ‘Stats Stack Up‘ against each other heading into Week 18 of the NFL season.
