The Washington Commanders are headed back across the Atlantic.
The NFL announced Wednesday that Washington will participate in the 2026 NFL London Games, with the franchise set to play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Jacksonville Jaguars were also named as a participating team. Opponents, dates and kickoff times will be revealed when the full 2026 regular-season schedule is released this spring.
The game will mark the third international regular-season appearance in franchise history. Washington previously played in London during the 2016 season and returned to Europe in 2025 for the league’s first regular-season game in Madrid.
Managing partner Josh Harris reflected on that experience while looking ahead to London.
“Last season’s trip to Madrid was personally unforgettable, and a tremendous milestone for our organization,” Harris said in a statement. “London is home to some of the most passionate sports fans in the world. We’re grateful for the opportunity to bring the Commanders and NFL football to this unique city.”
The 2026 matchup comes as part of what the NFL says will be a record nine international games played across four continents and seven countries. London remains the centerpiece of the league’s global efforts. Since 2007, more than three million fans have attended regular-season games in the U.K., with the market generating significant economic impact and sustained fan growth.
The Jaguars will once again play a prominent role in that expansion. Jacksonville is scheduled to play back-to-back games in the United Kingdom for the third time and will also return to Wembley Stadium as part of its ongoing multi-year commitment to the region. The franchise has played 14 regular-season games in London since 2013.
For Washington, the trip represents both competitive opportunity and brand growth. The Commanders continue to build under Harris’ ownership group and will now do so on an international stage that has become increasingly important to the league’s long-term strategy.
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, purpose-built to host NFL games, has become known as the league’s home in the United Kingdom. The Commanders will look to add another chapter to their international history when they take the field there next season.
More information, including ticket details and Washington’s opponent, is expected later this spring.
