Commanders Look to Shock Chiefs on Monday Night Football

The Commanders’ Daily Show is gearing up for Monday Night Football at Arrowhead, where Washington faces a tall task against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Host Bob Matthews lays out a slim but hopeful path to an upset — and it starts with defense and discipline.

With Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel both cleared to return, Matthews says Washington’s offense could open up under Marcus Mariota, who replaces the injured Jayden Daniels. But the focus, he stresses, has to be on the other side of the ball: limit the big plays and make Mahomes earn every yard.

Matthews also emphasizes running the ball early and often — pounding away with Bill Croskey-Merritt, Chris Rodriguez Jr., and Jeremy McNichols to keep Kansas City’s offense off the field.

Can Washington control the tempo and hang around deep into the fourth quarter? Watch the full Commanders Daily episode below to find out what Bob thinks it’ll take to pull off the improbable in primetime.
