Trinidad Chambliss has been granted NCAA eligibility for 2026 — but that doesn’t mean he won his case.
DJ Bland clears up the confusion around Chambliss’ lawsuit and what the ruling actually means. The eligibility decision is temporary. His case challenging NCAA eligibility rules is still pending and likely won’t be heard until after the 2026 season. That gives Chambliss another year at Old Miss if he chooses to take it.
The real question is whether he should.
DJ walks through the production: nearly 4,000 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, just three interceptions, plus over 500 rushing yards and eight scores on the ground, producing more than enough NFL-caliber tape.
He also revisits Chambliss’ dominance at Fair State, including a D2 national championship run, and explains why those who watched him at that level weren’t surprised by his SEC success.
DJ also breaks down Chambliss’ strengths — deep-ball accuracy, pocket footwork, quick release, and mobility — while also addressing areas for refinement, including added velocity outside the numbers and more patience in clean pockets.
With multiple quarterback-needy teams projected in the 2026 draft, DJ makes the case that Chambliss is already in the top tier of this class — and may not need another season to prove it.
