Jonathan Taylor, Jahmyr Gibbs Lead Week 10 NFL Players of the Week Honors

AFC Players of the Week

Jonathan Taylor Sets International Records

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor earned the AFC Offensive Player of the Week after delivering one of the most dominant international performances in league history. Taylor recorded a career-high 286 scrimmage yards — including 244 rushing yards — and three touchdowns in the Colts’ overtime win against Atlanta in Berlin.

The yardage total set Colts franchise records and marked the most rushing and scrimmage yards ever in an NFL international game. Taylor also became the first player in league history to post four games with at least three rushing touchdowns within the first 10 weeks of a season.

This marks Taylor’s sixth Offensive Player of the Week honor, tying Hall of Famer Edgerrin James for the most by a Colts running back.

Houston Texans defensive end Danielle Hunter took home AFC Defensive Player of the Week with a stat-stuffing effort in a 36–29 win over Jacksonville. Hunter posted seven tackles, four tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble, becoming one of just nine players since 2000 to hit each of those marks in a game.

It’s Hunter’s third career Defensive Player of the Week award — and his first with Houston.

Kene Nwangwu Breaks Away for Another Kick Return TD

New York Jets return specialist Kene Nwangwu secured AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after a 99-yard kickoff return touchdown in a win over Cleveland. The score made him just the fourth player in NFL history with a kickoff return touchdown in four of his first five seasons.

Nwangwu now has five career kickoff returns of at least 95 yards, joining a select group that includes Cordarrelle Patterson, Josh Cribbs and Dante Hall.

NFC Players of the Week

Jahmyr Gibbs Drives Detroit’s Road Win

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week after totaling 172 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns in Detroit’s 44–22 win over Washington. Gibbs led the conference in scrimmage yards, rushing yards, yards per carry and total touchdowns in Week 10.

It’s the second weekly honor of Gibbs’ career and places him alongside Barry Sanders as the only Lions running backs with multiple Player of the Week awards.

DeMarcus Lawrence Makes Rare NFL History

Seattle Seahawks linebacker DeMarcus Lawrence claimed NFC Defensive Player of the Week after scoring two fumble-return touchdowns in a win over Arizona. He became only the third player in NFL history to record two fumble-return scores in the same game.

Lawrence added four tackles, a tackle for loss and half a sack. It’s his second career weekly award and first since 2017.

Nathan Shepherd’s Blocked FG Turns the Tide

New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Nathan Shepherd earned NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after blocking a third-quarter field goal attempt that helped preserve a 17–7 win at Carolina. It was the only blocked field goal recorded across the league in Week 10.

Shepherd also tallied two tackles and a sack, earning the first Player of the Week honor of his career.
