Going into yesterday’s game between the 3s Company and Killer 3s, there weren’t many teams playing as well as the latter. With a 4-1 record, the Killer 3s ranked as one of the top teams in the Big3 basketball league and looked to close the door on their opponent’s playoffs chances. But that didn’t happen as 3s Company Andre Emmett led his team to its third straight victory.

“The Company” started off the season 0-3 with a lack of cohesion but earned their first victory against the winless Ball Hogs in Week 4. They haven’t looked back since and yesterday, they defeated the Killer 3s 51-41 after a 14-0 run to close out the game

Emmett, a D-League standout, has been the catalyst for the win streak. Over these last three games he’s averaged 20 points, seemingly finding whatever shot he wants.

Emmett came out aggressively early and logged 24 points and 14 rebounds in the win.

The 3s Company set the tone in the contest with an 8-0 run but the Killer 3s settled in and, after great contributions from Stephen Jackson, Dante Greene, and C.J Watson, took the lead at halftime 26-22. Although 3s Company fought competitively, the Killer 3s continued to flex their muscle. Taking a 39-33 lead off a Greene three-pointer, it looked like the end for the underdogs. But taking the lead from Emmett and Jason Maxiell’s play, 3s Company went on a 14-0 run and closed the game out with a free throw off a Stephen Jackson flagrant foul.

This was a physical game throughout. 3s Company earned every point and deserved to win. They were the more disciplined team and made the right plays when needed.

3s Company moves to 3-3 on the season with their third straight victory. The Killer 3s drop to 4-2 though is still one of the Top 3 teams in the Big 3.

Next week in Milwaukee, 3s Company will take on the Aliens while the Killer 3s will take on the Bivouac.
