The Washington Redskins defeated the Carolina Panthers, 29-21, for their third win of the season. The win over the Panthers was the Redskins second straight win which was a first for the season. The last time the Redskins won consecutive games was last season during Weeks 5-7 when they won three straight over the Carolina Panthers 23-17, Dallas Cowboys 20-17, and New York Giants 20-13. In victory, the Redskins improved their all-time series record against the Panthers to 9-6.

Rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins Jr. picked up his second straight win as a starting quarterback and has done so in just four outings.

The former Ohio State star continued to make plays down the stretch and now has helped the Redskins win the past two despite falling behind.

The Redskins (3-9) leaned on Derrius Guice and Adrian Peterson as a tandem that rushed for 228 yards along with three touchdowns.

Washington will stay on the road where they will face the Green Bay Packers Sunday in Wisconsin. The Packers are 9-3 on the season and sit atop the NFC North division along with the Minnesota Vikings.

In the victory over the Panthers, the Redskins re-wrote several historical statistics and individual players put their names in the team record books.

Here are a few feats accomplished in the Week 13 road win.

On Defense:

The Redskins defense finished with six sacks, continuing their streak of games with at least two sacks to eight games. It is their longest streak since Week 1 through Week 9 of 2017. The defense now has 35 sacks on the season and 30 since Week 5.

The defense totaled six sacks in consecutive games for the first time since Week 9-Week 10 of the 1984 season.

Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan was inactive for the first time in his nine-year career. His consecutive games streak ended at 139.

Third-year cornerback Fabian Moreau recorded his third interception of the season and did so in his second straight start.

Linebacker’s Nat Orchard and Chris Odom collectively amassed three sacks, three tackles for losses, and one forced fumble in the win. Neither one of the players was on the Redskins roster in last week’s win over the New York Jets.

On Offense:

Haskins Jr. finished with 147 passing yards on 13-for-25 passing.

Guice set the tone in the run game and recorded his first-ever 100-yard outing by producing 129 yards on 10 carries for an average of 12.9 yards per rush. He also added two touchdowns.
